Psa 89:17, 18 For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted. For the LORD is our defense; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.

There is an overwhelming delight and satisfaction that comes from trusting God wholeheartedly. God is who He says He is and is always faithful. He takes care of His own: The Scriptures speak many times of how He protects, defends, preserves, and shelters, and will judge those who wrong His children.

There are people who operate in hatred, suspicion, and fear attempting to tear down those who are walking uprightly. By their seeing someone’s good character in front of them perhaps it brings a sense of guilt because of something that is not right in their own life.

As that happens to you, remember Jesus was the most hated man, although He was perfect and full of love. He warned us that we will be persecuted and that we are to rejoice in it. If you are a child of God and walking in the truth you will be hated.

Never try to please people. The Bible says the darkness hates the light. You are suffering for Jesus and will have a great reward from the Father if you remain faithful. At times it is hard if people who may call themselves Christians show no love as they slander, gossip, and condemn. Forgive quickly and don’t take it personal.

At times when Jesus was falsely accused He answered not a word. He knew His Father and He knew who He was and He didn’t have to defend Himself with those people.

1Peter 3:14-17 But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

The truth of God’s Word will set you free. Let Him love you, just believe what he says in His word and love Him. Learn to obey Him, trust Him at His word, and make His Word your word. It’s not as hard as you may think.

God loves you. Don’t worry what people will do to you. Speak all God commands you with loving boldness and strength. God is the one who justifies, gives us peace, confidence, assurance, hope, victory and strength. Now that Jesus is in you, abide in Him, and you will have fruit that remains.
God is our defense. So, likewise we are to stand for the defense of the gospel.
